Elekta

Elekta is a Swedish medical technology company that makes equipment and software for radiation therapy, radiosurgery and brachytherapy. Founded in Stockholm in 1972 by the neurosurgeon Lars Leksell, it built the first Leksell Gamma Knife for treating brain tumours without open surgery, and now supplies linear accelerators including Elekta Evo, the Elekta Unity MR-Linac, brachytherapy afterloaders and the MOSAIQ oncology information system to hospitals and cancer centres worldwide. Its B-shares have traded on Nasdaq Stockholm as EKTA B since 1994. In the financial year to 30 April 2026 it reported net sales of SEK 16.7 billion and an average of 4,353 employees. In August 2026 the European Investment Bank agreed to lend it up to €100 million for research and development.
