Genomatica, which trades as Geno, is a San Diego industrial biotechnology company founded in 2000 by Christophe Schilling. It engineers micro-organisms and the bioprocesses around them so that widely used chemicals and materials can be made from renewable feedstocks instead of petroleum, and has built a portfolio of more than 1,100 patents alongside two decades of proprietary process data. In August 2026 it was acquired by Again, a Copenhagen biomanufacturing company, for undisclosed terms, combining Geno's bioprocess engineering with Again's AI-driven biological design.
